How long until I get my order?

Each product clearly displays the dispatch time for the game and we aim to meet these criteria. You will be emailed upon despatch and you may log into your account any time to review the status of the order.

If you have bought an item from us but have traded in one of your games as payment or part payment, we will only despatch your purchase when we have received and tested your sell items.

How do I check status of an order?

Simply log in to your account and you can review the status of your order.

I got the wrong item...

Apologies about this, please contact us if this is the case and we will send you details of where to return this game. We will then provide you with the option of a refund upon receipt or send the correct game to you at no further cost to you.

I placed an order but never got a confirmation?

Sometimes overzealous spam filters can catch emails that we send to you – please check your spam filters. If you still cannot find an email confirmation, please email info@tradeyourgames.co.uk from the email address for your account and we will push another confirmation to you.

Where's my refund?

Sometimes due to instances out of our control, the item you purchased may go missing in the post. We will refund you in full if this is the case if the item does not arrive within 15 days of the date the dispatch confirmation was sent to you as these are the timeframes that Royal Mail state on their site.

The finance team will ensure that the refund is placed to your card you paid with if you used a card. If payment was made by paypal, then the refund will be back to your paypal account and if Tradeyourgames credit was used, similarly the amount will be credited to your account which you can spend on other items on the site or ‘cash out’.

How much is delivery?

Delivery for all items in the UK is free. We are currently not selling internationally but this will change and relevant delivery costs will apply for selling internationally.

What are pre-owned or used items?

These are items that were previously owned by someone else and traded in to us. All items go through a rigorous testing procedure to ensure that they are playable and in good condition. Some discs may be professionally cleaned to ensure that they are in the best condition before being sent out to customers.

If the item you receive is damaged and not working, please contact us and we can arrange returning the item and we will test the item. If we find that the item is not working, we will replace the item in the first instance and if not in stock, arrange a refund. If the game/console/discs are actually not faulty, we will contact you and arrange redelivery at your cost or alternatively, pay you the current trade-in value of the game if you were to sell to us. Your statutory rights are not affected.

I want to buy and sell items, but I want to my buy item immediately?

To speed up the process, during the checkout stage, you are provided with the opportunity to pay in full for your purchase so that there are no delays in dispatch. We will then send these items out in the time period stated for the product, rather than waiting for your sell items. Upon receipt of your sell items, they will be treated as if you had sold them on their own (see FAQs related to Selling to tradeyourgames.co.uk) and your account will be credited.

What would you buy from me?

tradeyourgames.co.uk will currently buy your video games, games consoles and blu-ray movies. Simply search in the sell section of the site for the items you have using the name or the barcode on the back of the product. If you can’t find a product, please contact us on info@tradeyourgames.co.uk and we shall let you know when that item has been added to the database.

Ok, so how do I sell to you?

On the sell section of tradeyourgames.co.uk, there are various ways to find out how much we will pay for your items. You can see how much we will pay in cash for your items, and if you are happy with these, click ‘Sell Now’ to add this to your sell basket. Do this with all the items you want to sell and once you are happy, click to checkout and place your order.

You will then be sent instructions as to where to send your items so that you can be paid for them via email and after checking out.

Please ensure you include the testing form that you are provided with the order so that our processing team can identify your order quickly and process them quickly. You may also keep us updated to let us know that you have sent the items to us so that we can keep an eye out for them via your account page.

Upon receipt, we will update your account so that you know we have received your goods and are in the process of testing.

All items are rigorously tested to ensure that they are working as these are then made available to other customers to buy on the site. When we are happy with them, we will credit your tradeyourgames.co.uk account balance with the amount and you will be notified by email.

You can then log in and spend this on other purchases or ask to be paid in cash.

Do you pay cash for my items?

Yes we do. Once we have received your order and tested it, you can take the balance as cash paid by cheque.

I have sold items to you, how should I send them to you?

You will be provided with instructions by email and after placing the order as to what to do next. If you do not receive these instructions, please contact us or check your spam filters.

You must package your items securely and send them to the address provided with a printout of the email so that we can identify that the order belongs to you. As we receive a large amount of orders every day, it is vital that you send these details so that things are not delayed.

It is your responsibility to send the items to us and we recommend that you send them by trackable means (recorded delivery or special delivery) so as to ensure that you are covered if the items are damaged or lost in transit. If upon receipt of the order, it is found that the postage amount paid was insufficient, we will contact you and the additional cost we had to pay will be deducted from the total amount to be received by you.

If the items are not received by us, we will help you to the best of our abilities with any claims or enquiries with the service you used to send us the games.  

   

Will you pay for my postage?

Whilst you are responsible for sending the products to us, we will re-imburse you for postage on top of the price quoted to the following extent:

If you are selling just the one item to us, we will re-imburse you up to: the lower of your cost of sending to us OR £0.50 in total towards postage.

If your order consists of 2 to 5 items, we will re-imburse you up to: the lower of your cost of sending to us OR £3.00 in total towards postage.

If you are selling 6 to 10 items to us, we will re-imburse you up to: the lower of your cost of sending to us OR £5.00 in total towards postage.

For any items with more than 10 items, we will re-imburse you up to: the lower of your cost of sending to us OR £10.00 in total towards postage. We recommend using a courier for these orders, we can recommend certain couriers if you wish as £10 is more sufficient to send orders larger than 100 games/dvds in one box

What condition do the items have to be in?

All items we receive from you will be tested to ensure that they are satisfactory as they will be made available to other customers to buy –if you would feel unhappy at buying the item you are going to send to us, then chances are that we will have an issue with it.

All games and blu-rays discs must include the official cover art, official case and the disc(s).

Only UK English games will be received that are playable on PAL Consoles, any products received that do not fit these criteria will be returned to you at your cost or recycled here for free.

We only accept UK region Blu-ray discs, any others will be returned to you at your cost or recycled here for free.

Consoles will need to untampered, fully working and UK region consoles with all the relevant leads, cables and controllers etc. The product listing will explain clearly what you need to send to us to receive your money.

Do you accept items without their boxes and covers?

No we do not as we cannot sell these to other customers, any items received in this state will be returned at your cost or recycled for free if you desire.

Do you accept items without their manuals?

We do accept items without their manuals, however as per our terms and conditions, you will have 25% reduced from the amount offered.

I have multiple items, can i sell these to you?

We currently only buy from individuals rather than traders. Any multiple copies of the same game will attract a lower price for additional copies and this will be visible in the sell cart when adding the item to the cart.

How long do I have to send out my items?

As per our terms and conditions, you have 7 days to send these items to us. As prices paid are constantly changing for each product, you must send within this time limit. If items are sent after this date, we will still process the order but you will be paid the amounts payable on the date of receipt.

We recommend that once you have sent your order to us, you notify us via your account page so we can keep an eye out for it.

We constantly monitor despatch times, if the order is not received within 25 days, we will contact you again and cancel the order. You will then have to place the order again if you wish to sell the products.

How long before you check in and test my items?

You will be notified by email and can track order status on your account. We will email you as soon we have received the goods at our warehouse and then again when we have tested the products. We aim to process orders within 24 hours of receipt but this may lengthen during busy periods.

How long do I have to send out my items?

Our testing team will contact you if there are any issues with particular items and let you know what the next steps are.

If we cannot accept an item as it is damaged, we will provide you with the option of us sending this back to you at an agreed cost or recycle it here for free. The other items will be processed if they are satisfactory and your account balance credited.

How do I get paid?

When we email you to confirm items have been tested and are satisfactory, your account will be credited with the balance and is available for you to withdraw. You can do several things:

  • You may spend this balance on other items on the site.
  • You may donate some of this to charity
  • You will have requested that you are paid by cheque when you placed the order. This will incur a £1 handling and postage charge and will be despatched within 7 days of the order having completed testing. There may be delays if you do not respond to any of our correspondence regarding items that did not pass testing. We will inform you by email when the cheque has been despatched.
